All aboard...
Its been a busy summer, working on the DG 6 Bus Elizabeth. Built to original DG waggon design with dropsides, with a removable bus body. This alows flexibilty for future use to be either a bus as a waggon. All the family are looking forward to riding on Elizabeth along the Weston-Super-mare seafront.

Wining Weekend at Onslow Park...
A fabulous weekend of steaming with the Brown Waggon over the August Bank Holiday with the family.
Steaming 150 miles from Bath up to Shrewsbury in 4 1/2 hours drive with one waterstop.
Joined by 3 generations of Goold's there were plenty of hands on deck to get the brass cleaned!
Despite the occasional rain shower, we were delighted to win the cup for the 'Best Sentinel' presented
by the Mayor of Shrewsbury

Steam into Spring...
Its been a cold spring, so steaming has taken a slow start this year, but that has given us more time to tinker in the workshops, working on various projects. This picture was taken last summer, just before a road trip to Longridge Devril for a local vintage car club meet. This was the second outing for the Yellow Waggon - Adcock after a major restoration at JR Goold Vintage Steam Restorations.

Steams A Dream... Wins Again!
'It Steam's a Dream' the short film about the restoration of a Model M has picked up another award at the Hamstone Film Festival in Norton Sub Hamdon.
The documentary won 'best film' in the adult section and will be posted on the Norton Sub Hamdon Film Society website later this month.

It's the second award for this film as it also netted 'best short' at the Somerset Digifest in 2009

Summer Reflections...
Its been another busy summer for the Goold clan. One of the notable highlights being the completion of Boot’s Barn... All hands were on deck to get the job finished in time for a summer party! John has been touring Kent and Cornwall with his Stanley. Then on the August Bank Holiday, the family steamed the sentinel up to Shrewsbury (140miles) to help celebrate their 50th Anniversary rally. An enjoyable weekend of road runs, a trip to the original waggon works and to top the weekend off we were awarded the cup for the “The Best Waggon” by the Mayor.

The summer evenings are now drawing in and its back to projects in the workshops....
All eyes are now on the HenRow for 2012!

Away from the Workshops!
Our summer calendar is always packed with events. Many members of the family are involved in various organisations and enjoy attending rallies and meetings to share time with friends, customers and of course to chat with other enthusiasts about their passion for steam.
All of this comes alongside the maintenance and care of our own vehicles with many an hour spent cleaning, repairing and improving the Sentinels and Stanleys to ensure they remain in a sound working order.

There is always a project on the go 'down the garden', but it’s all made worthwhile on those warm summer evenings when our partners, nieces and nephews show up with a picnic and of course a much appreciated crate of beer!

And into the country...
Steam ups and day trips become a regular part of family life from early spring onwards and our vehicles can often be seen driving through the small towns and villages of the Mendip Hills and Somerset Levels. These roadruns have become something of a family event as sons, daughters and grandchildren all lend a hand to make them a memorable and enjoyable outing.
